III. Our History & Journey – From a Simple Idea to a Global Brand

The Humble Beginnings (2018-2019)

The Bliss House LLC was born from a very personal experience. Our founder, Kim, was searching for the perfect birthday card for her mother – something that went beyond the generic messages found in most retail stores. After hours of searching, she came home empty-handed and frustrated. That evening, she sat down with a blank piece of cardstock, some watercolors, and a simple idea: Why not create something meaningful myself?

That handmade card became her mother’s most treasured possession. Friends and family began asking where they could buy similar cards. Soon, Kim was spending her evenings and weekends designing cards and simple ornaments, selling them at local craft fairs in Sheridan, Wyoming.

The first year was challenging. Kim operated out of her small apartment, hand-cutting every card and packaging every ornament herself. There were weeks when sales were slow, and doubts crept in. But every time a customer wrote to say, “This card made my sister cry happy tears” or “The ornament you made for my late father’s memorial brought our family so much comfort,” Kim knew she was onto something special.

The Turning Point (2020)

The year 2020 changed everything – not just for The Bliss House, but for the world. As people were separated by distance and isolation, the need for meaningful connection skyrocketed. Greeting cards and ornaments became lifelines of love and support.

In April 2020, we launched our first e-commerce website. The response was overwhelming. Orders poured in from across the United States – from healthcare workers sending encouragement to colleagues, to grandparents sending birthday wishes to grandchildren they couldn’t hug.

That year, we sold over 15,000 greeting cards and 8,000 ornaments. We outgrew Kim’s apartment and moved into our first small warehouse space. We also hired our first employees – local artists and craftspeople who shared our passion for thoughtful design.

Expansion & International Reach (2021-2022)

By 2021, The Bliss House LLC had established itself as a trusted name in the gifting industry. We expanded our product line to include seasonal ornaments for Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Diwali, and other cultural celebrations. Our greeting cards now cover over 50 occasions – from birthdays and anniversaries to sympathy, get well, congratulations, and just because.
